Children sitting on the floor in library and studying holding books

As the school year comes to a close, it’s important to help children reflect on how much they’ve learned and grown. Reflection builds confidence, motivation, and responsibility by helping students recognize that effort leads to progress. Families can encourage this by asking open-ended questions about learning experiences, celebrating growth beyond grades, creating lists of favorite accomplishments and memories, and helping children set goals for the future. Taking time to appreciate progress helps children develop pride in their efforts and excitement for continued learning.
