Positive Behaviors, Interventions, and Supports
Gladden Farms is excited to share that we were awarded a Level 3 PBIS Award from PBISAz! We strive to support students, staff, and families with our Positive Behaviors, Interventions, and Supports (PBIS) program. GFE incorporates four commitments that pair with PBIS: Respect, Responsibility, Kindness, and Safety. Through these four commitments, students learn how to interact and build positive relationships with one another, how to behave in areas around campus, how to stay safe, and also how to treat others.
Equitable Supports for Students
Gladden Farms provides equitable support for all students. At Gladden, we believe each child can succeed. In order to accomplish this, we offer various programs that meet students at their academic and behavioral level. These programs include: Gifted Education, English Learners (EL), Reading Supports, Accelerated Math, counselor support groups, and after school activities.
Buddy Classes
To provide opportunities to enrich and expand their learning outside of the standard classroom environment, we offer Monthly Buddy Classes. The experience of having older and younger students interact in positive ways is especially important in a K-6 environment, as it builds leadership capacity within our older students and forms cross grade level connections through fun activities and games.
- After school club offerings including: Student Council, Garden Club, Tutoring, Bike Club, Media Club, and Crochet Club.
- Frequent field trips that teachers plan to connect learning to real world experiences and applications.
WATCH D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) Program
GFE is part of the National WATCH D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) Program. Dad’s of Great Students is a national program that is a family and community engagement educational initiative. There are 2 primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program:
- To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important
- To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying. We currently have 10 male role models who are taking part in this program on our campus.
Strong Parent-Teacher Organization
Gladden Farms Elementary and the community collaborate through a strong Parent-Teacher Organization! At Gladden Farms, our parents are partners. The Gladden Farms Parent-Teacher Organization is a strong and caring group made up of parents, teachers, and local business people to help our students gain access to opportunities they wouldn’t have otherwise. This partnership is responsible for amazing events like our annual Boo Hoo Breakfast, Halloween Dance, Daddy/Daughter Dance, Fun Run, Community Vendor Fair, and multiple business partnership fundraisers throughout the school year.
