Peace Garden

Peace Garden

Students from the Gladden Farms Elementary School Garden Club keep busy year-round by getting their hands dirty and planting seeds in the Peace Garden!  The Peace Garden adapts to the seasons, but has already seen the planting of fruit trees, harvesting of cantaloupes and other melons, plus a large variety of yummy vegetables including eggplants, peppers, squash, tomatoes, and much more!

Gardening engages the senses of students. It enhances fine motor skills, helping them learn to plan and organize while developing environmental stewards and encouraging healthy eating.

The Peace Garden was originally developed as a school-wide project through the GFE Student Council.  The garden is sponsored by Tucson Clean & Beautiful, but is also open for additional volunteers and donations. The Garden Club wishes to thank everyone who has volunteered during harvest time, provided seeds, and a special thank you to Jeff Goodman for his donation of succulents.
